Daresbury Laboratory, Warrington, Cheshire with the possibility for hybrid working

£31,931 - £34,709 per annum (dependent on skills and experience)

As part of UK Research and Innovation, the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) is one of Europe's largest research organisations and operates at a number of sites within the UK, including the Daresbury Laboratory (DL) and many more around the world. The Laboratory is a leading centre for the design, build and operation of particle accelerators and other scientific equipment.

Our Technology Department within STFC provides advanced technology and engineering in support of both STFC funded activities and other high profile international projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to support Project Managers on key projects. Working closely with key collaborators such as CERN and UK universities, the role will provide effective coordination to support successful project delivery and provide clear reporting within a dynamic portfolio. We are looking for an enthusiastic and pro-active individual who is a great team player!

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and engaging with a wide range of internal/external stakeholders.
  • Managing key project controls to support successful project delivery.
  • Planning and scheduling of project milestones.
  • Collation of finance information into the overall finance report.
  • Organisation of Project Management Board meetings.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working on complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Advanced IT skills including MS Office.
  • Ability to use scheduling tools such as MS Project.

The role requires some UK and overseas travel, and this varied role will provide you with opportunities to learn new systems and processes relating to project management.
