Billing Analyst Operations, AWS Monetization
AWS Monetization is one of the pillars within AWS Commerce Platform, a set of
services that AWS customers use to access, organize, understand, control, and
optimize their cloud infrastructure and spend. Commerce Platform provides granular
usage data, computes charges, issues invoices, provides mechanisms for customers to
settle those charges, protects AWS and its customers from fraudulent usage, and tracks
all this information for the company's benefit in the Data Warehouse. The Private
Pricing Program is a fast growing global organization that drives the AWS business by
creating long term strategic relationships with our customers to grow their use of AWS
services. It sits at the intersection of AWS Platform, Services, Sales, and Legal teams,

Custom Billing Solutions (CBS) is looking for a Billing Analyst to support monthly
operations of pricing, billing and discounting programs. The team member will partner
with stakeholders to ensure participating customers realize intended benefits. An
effective candidate will be a creative problem solver, committed to the team, and able to
work around obstacles. The Billing Analyst will support customer inquiries and
contribute toward immediate resolution as well as assist with longer-term solutions. This
team member will have an opportunity to innovate through process improvement and
participate in cross-functional team initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
Billing Analysts are responsible for the monthly discounting of assigned products
and customers utilizing query tools and Excel models to calculate the appropriate
discount, based upon the interpretation of the customer contract.
Work with AWS customers and internal stakeholders to address billing and
discounting issues and gather valuable feedback from the end customer to make
process improvements and corrections moving forward.

Problem solve and collaborate with other teams on a daily basis as you gain
valuable exposure and experience to different departments and processes
across the AWS organization. Utilize this experience as you grow and expand

Assist or drive projects to solve customer or data problems, enhance or create a
new process or improve team documentation
Support recurring and ad hoc reporting for various internal/external stakeholders
2+ years of relevant professional experience
Advanced Excel including VLOOKUP and Pivot tables
Verbal/written communication and presentation skills, including an ability to
effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, accounting, finance, analytics
or a related field
Accounting, or Finance experience with accruals and receivables
SQL or other relational database experience
Experience with financial contracts and comfortable with contractual language.
Ability to read and interpret a customer contract and transform into a discounting
Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively across all functions and levels of the
Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate
and follow-through on projects
Strong quantitative, analytical and organizational skills
Highly organized, have multi-tasking skills, and efficient in ambiguous situations
