Electrical Engineer (Telecom Towers)

Position Description for Electric Engineer AT&T project:

Grade 23

The Electric Engineer will perform work associated with Electric Support in AT&T wireless mobility project. Work will utilize programs, procedures and work processes developed and provided by the project along with standard engineering and Power Audits work, to complete project deliverables. The engineer will drive for quality of deliverables and minimize rework through the application of quality absolutes while working independently and as part of a team. This position is based in Gurgaon, India

Position will report to the Lead Engineer, Engineering team. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

The engineer will perform work associated with all Electric support, in AT&T Wireless project. Work will utilize programs, procedures and work processes developed and provided by the project, along with check list made for carrying out Electric Support work for LTE, small Cells and New Site Builds ( NSBs), to complete project deliverables. The engineer will drive for quality of deliverables and minimize rework through the application of quality absolutes on the project.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support Engineering and Construction support team for all Electric aspects for LTE, Small Cells and New Site Builds ( NSB) sites in AT&T mobility project.
  • Coordinates with project team members collecting field data in support of the engineering, scoping and construction activities.
  • Supports Engineering team with all Electric aspects of the project, like Panel Schedules, SLDs, Cable sizing, Site load Requirements etc.
  • Performs Power Audits on the generator and Battery sizing at various sites , as required by the project.
  • Maintains continual status of assigned work through tracking tools assigned by the Project or self-developed
  • Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction
  • Provides on-the-job-training to assigned personnel in the team
  • Performs interface management with minimal technical oversight.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electric Engineering, with 3-5 years of experience in the area of network planning & design in Telecom domain as well as in General Electric Networks.
  • Minimum 1 years' hands-on experience on telecom projects
  • Hands-on experience in Fiber Backbone, Distribution & Access, FTTH/Wireless Network Planning & Design. Familiar with the terminology used in the telecom industry preferred.
  • Exposure to Engineering, Quality Audits in addition to Construction Support for telecom projects is desired.
  • Providing technical suggestions to the team, particularly from Electric stand-point.

  • Ability to develop knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria and codes relevant to the discipline
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Desktop automation skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • AutoCAD and Micro-station experience preferred
  • Experience with Telecom software (Google Earth, MapInfo, Market Wiz etc) preferred.
