EOI - Detainee Services Officer - Villawood NSW

Location: Villawood, NSW
Rotating Roster - 12-hour shifts, mix of days & nights
Only 7 shifts per fortnight

To be considered for the role you:
MUST be able to undertake a phone interview on one of the following dates: 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, OR 14th, 15th June
MUST be able to attend an interview/assessment 15th June or 16th June or 22nd June (8:30am to approx. 2:30pm to be held at the Guilford Leagues Club (25-55 Tamplin Road Guilford)
MUST be able to commence 1 August 2022
About the Role
As a Detainee Services Officer you will focus on the detainees in our care ensuring the safety, dignity, and security of the centre on behalf of an Australian Government Department.
To be successful in this role you will:
Demonstrate the highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
Above average level of fitness (a fitness assessment is part of the selection criteria)
Fully COVID Vaccinated
Ideally understand the needs of people from different ethnic, cultural and lifestyle backgrounds.
Clear & effective communication skills (written and verbal)
A natural ability to influence and negotiate in situations which may be challenging at times
Demonstrate a sound level of computer literacy
This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment as an essential selection component for this role.
