Job Description

This position will be part of our analytical service group. The person will lead the analytical method development, optimization, and implementation for AMH analytical service group. This key role will be a specialist in Thermal Desorption Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (TD-GCMS). This key role will support TD-GCMS analysis and will conduct method improvement and optimization for analytical service group. This person will design new analytical method to support business
needs or implement existing analytical methods from other divisions or from industrial standard methods. The person will serve as a subject matter expert in GCMS for AMH division. This person will be the key person for improving AMH analytical capability.

In this role you will:
Serve as a subject matter expert in GCMS for AMH division
Support AMH business needs in improving analytical capability using TD-GCMS a tool to determine organic outgassing species in samples.
Work with other divisional analytical teams to determine best practices for AMH division.
Serve as Sr. Chemist in analytical service group
Support laboratory operations to include, but not limited to, process routine samples, maintain GCMS system uptime, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Preparing detailed writing test protocols, performing design of experiment for R&D requests, execute test plans, data evaluation/interpretation, and writing laboratory test reports, present findings to stakeholder and senior management.
Perform method development and validation/verification for new products, resins and/or R&D projects.
Mentor junior chemists to improve their knowledge and skills in GCMS operations
Lead and oversee development of Standard Operating Procedures, User Guides and other relevant documentation for the analytical service group.
Education and Experience
MS or PhD in analytical chemistry related field with equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 3 years working experience (MS)/1 years working experience (PhD) in GCMS operation related fields.
Additional Requirements
Considerable knowledge and complete acquaintance and understanding of GCMS systemoperation.
Experience in working with polymer samples is a plus.
Independent problem solver and can work with cross functional teams for new method development and implementation.
Have the ability to design and create new analytical procedures and work instructions to enhance laboratory operations
Can develop project plan with limited supervision. Can coordinate activities with other groups to execute the project plan.
Demonstrate the successful GCMS method development and implementation in the past.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet client and internal demands under tight timelines is a must.
