Job Description
Title - Antenna Engineer
Location - San Diego, CA
Type - C2C / W2 / FT / C2H
Duration - Long Term Job description: The employee will assist in design, test, and documentation of best-in-class antennas for high volume wireless mobile communication products. The employee must be self-motivated with a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in design, test, and documentation of best-in-class antennas for high volume wireless mobile communication products
- Assist in design of diversity, broad band, and multi-band internal or external antennas
- Focus on good efficiency, compliance with SAR requirements, suitable broad band gain and proper radiation patterns for the intended use is required
- Attention to size, cost and manufacturability a must
- Assist customers in design of antennas for in products integrating wireless mobile communication devices
- Manage 64-probe Satimo antenna test chamber
- Prior experience in design of multi-band products supporting CDMA, WCDMA, LTE and/or Wi-Fi technologies required
Experience/Requirements:
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical properties of antenna materials and sub-assemblies
- Skilled in the use of antenna testing and characterization test equipment and processes
- Prior experience in working with antenna suppliers and test houses
- At least 2-6 years of relevant experience in:
- Multi-band Antenna Design (Cell phones, PDA, or Laptop)
- CDMA/EVDO/GSM/GPRS/UMTS/WCDMA/HSDPA LTE protocols
- 800/900/1800/1900/2100/2400/GPS frequency bands
- Small PIFA/LOOP/Monopole (internal and external antennas)
- Working knowledge of Antenna Test Chambers
- Satimo System a plus
- Efficiency/Gain
- TRP/TIS Over the Air CTIA Testing
- Knowledge of Network Analyzers
- 8960 Call box a plus
- Self-motivated engineer with good communication skills

Education: BSEE or higher with course working in Electromagnetics and/or Antenna Theory
