TheProcess Engineer will assist with plant operations according to business necessities and assigned process development work. The primary responsibility of this position is to support the process development of new encapsulated flavors and process improvements for commercial products. The focus will be on increasing the quality, timeliness, and first-time right of product introductions. Process Engineers take a hands-on approach to their job, including operating process equipment and working closely with technicians and operations staff as required bringing assigned projects to completion. The ideal candidate must demonstrate an ability and willingness to learn and communicate with a variety of individuals at all technical levels. The candidate must be team-oriented, organized, and have good multi-tasking skills.
You will spend your time
Designs and plans laboratory and pilot experiments in support of new product development and manufacturing improvement according to New Product Introduction (NPI). Plans experiments, gathers accurate data, performs analysis, summarizes findings, and writes reports. Uses scientific and engineering methodologies. Elaboration of technical batch reports including interpretation and conclusions. Communication of project result and share trials results
Responsible for the management of the operation and maintenance of the encapsulation pilot plant. Coordination of sample batches preparation for customers and internal use. Creates and maintains SOPs as necessary.
Leads scale-up and trial batches in manufacturing. Prepares temporary batch instructions and process change documents for non-standard processing. Participates in HAZOPs and safety reviews.
Communicates clearly with R&D, Operations, and manufacturing personnel, as needed. May also work directly with suppliers and/or customers (both internal and external).
Participates on new Project investment in basic engineering specifications and supports start up procedure.
Strong computer skills, including using spreadsheet software for data analysis

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well on teams and with minimal direction
The ability to occasionally lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) in a plant environment
BS in chemical engineering or Equivalent academic and work experience with 2+ years experience in a chemical, food, pharmaceutical, or related manufacturing or research environment
Experience in Basic Engineering activities for investment projects in chemical environment
