JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking support for our Department Head office. This position is part time with flexible hours.
Duties Include:
Assist with department events, seminars, faculty mentor lunches, group meals, guest/faculty candidate campus visits
Reserving conference rooms and monitoring reservation system
Sorting & distributing incoming mail
Creating and organizing department files
Answering general inquiries both via phone, email and in-person
Assist with the Department Head's calendar and travel arrangements
Inventory and ordering of office supplies
Assist with reconciling travel and purchases
Provide excellent customer service to all students, faculty, staff and visitors of the department
Provide support to the Department Head Administrative Coordinator
Qualifications and Requirements:
Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
Professionalism, organized, detail oriented, quick learner, positive attitude
Confidentiality is essential
Previous experience with Penn State systems is a plus but not required
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
Demonstrates personal initiative
