The IOMS Sales Representative position is responsible for the sale of gas isotope ratio mass spectrometers and all associated peripherals within a defined territory. In this position, you will maintain effective customer relationships and develop opportunities for growth with both new and existing customers. Excellent communication and strong listening skills are important for this position, as is a dedication to continuous learning, because science is constantly evolving. This is a multifaceted and exciting position, but one that comes with the help and support of the entire IOMS team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sell IOMS products to customers in the Eastern USA, including:IRMS instruments: Delta Q, 253 Plus, 253 Ultra, 271 Ultra.IRMS peripherals: EA-Isolink, GC-Isolink, LC-Isolink, Gas Bench, Kiel.
A strong customer-centric demeanor is very important.
Be aware of and be adaptable to the conditions that affect the business, including competition, customers, and markets.
Function as an involved member of the team, working with sales, factory, marketing, service, and commercial colleagues.
Function independently and authoritatively. Responsible for handling personal expense budget, travel arrangements, and sales funnel.
We travel mostly within the USA to visit customers, but occasionally internationally for meetings and to visit the factory, so a willingness to travel is important.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Experience with Gas Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry is desired
PhD or MSc Degree preferred in Earth/Geology/Chemistry/Physical Sciences, or equivalent, a Bachelor's degree is required.
1-3 years sales experience preferred, but not vital.
Be able to live and work within USA.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Position may require Covid-19 vaccination and/or routine testing, per client discretion. As a requirement to be onsite at Thermo Fisher Scientific this position requires vaccination status disclosure upon employment.
