POSITION Objectives:

The electrical engineer will be responsible for the integration of low/high voltage power systems, digital/analog marine electronics, and electrical harness modernization. They will work closely with other Brunswick companies to design, develop and adapt new technology to the fish and recreational boat products. The candidate will have good problem-solving skills, well versed in current and new technologies as they relate to the marine industry. They will interact with design teams on projects and product feature definitions. They will hold and participate in design review meetings and prepare technical documents for manufacturing and quality inspections and assembly.

POSITION Summary:

As the electrical engineer you will be responsible for design, development, and validation of current and new electrical systems. They will define system requirements, specify components and electrical connectors, conduct product research on electrical components and systems from other industries. Design electrical systems utilizing 3D CAD while also generating engineering drawings to be used for quoting, installation and trouble shooting.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Interface and collaborate with Brunswick propulsion and battery power companies on systems, layouts, and ensure consistency throughout the organization.
  • Integration, design, and layout of 48V systems.
  • Develops new electrical and electronic technology including multiplexing, telematics, satellite communication systems, and integrated dash electronics
  • Conceive new electrical and electronic system designs for customer convenience and production plant labor reduction and manufacturability
  • Create and validate load calculations based on ABYC/ISO/CE and Australian standards for AC and DC electrical systems
  • Ensure and/or acquire component and system compliance with industry standards
  • Determine grounding and galvanic protection requirements for AC and DC electrical system
  • Determine battery and charging system requirements for DC electrical systems and invertor sizing for AC electrical systems
  • Provide technical expertise to project groups and ensure consistency between all group electrical documentation, methods, and practices
  • Expert level knowledge of CAN and LIN based networking protocols nice to have
  • Attain ABYC certification in all electrical categories.


EXPERIENCE/SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • 3-5 years of electrical product experience with knowledge of manufacturing/production processes.
  • Computer Aided Design experience: Siemens NX 9.0, SolidWorks, Catia or Pro E preferred. 3-D modeling skills desirable.
  • Experience in the following engineering software, Python, Mat lab, Simulink
  • Knowledge and/or experience with high voltage systems would be beneficial


EDUCATION/TRAINING
  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience required
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures
