Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Structural Engineer to join the Strategic Deterrence Systems Division (SDS). This position can be filled in Huntsville. AL or Roy, UT and supports the Advanced Programs Team.

What Youll Get To Do:

The successful candidate for this role will participate in the development of structural designs to optimize dynamic performance, development of structural dynamics analysis and methodologies using advanced numerical solutions, establishing parameters for dynamics testing, dynamics test monitoring and data processing, correlation of test results to model predictions, and preparation of technical documents and presentations.

This role will include leadership and performance of professional tasks, including the ability to lead small teams and execute to cost and schedule targets, ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result, ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple task responsibilities simultaneously, and ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:

Youll Bring These Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 14 years of experience; 12 years with Masters Degree; 9 years with PhD

Experience deriving loads for hypersonic vehicles or other aerospace structures

Experience with modal testing and model correlation

Experience analyzing structures subjected to shock and vibration

Experience utilizing ADAMS or similar Multi-Body Dynamics tools to complete dynamic simulations

A current DoD Secret clearance granted or re-investigated within last 6 years

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Experience performing structural analysis using Abaqus or FEMAP/NASTRAN, or similar FEA tools

Experience writing scripts to automate workflow using MATLAB or Python

Basic experience with PTC CREO, NX or similar CAD systems for model interrogation

Experience leading short term projects to completion or a small team of engineers.

Strong communication and presentation skills as well as demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.

Active DoD Top Secret Clearance investigated within last 6 years

Salary Range: $134,700.00 - $212,800.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
