Description Robert Half is searching for a Staff Accountant for a long-term contract / temporary opportunity with a fast-growing company. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. This company offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded and the role is based in the Kansas City, Missouri region.
How you will make an impact
Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP Requirements - Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Recent and relevant accounting experience
High attention to detail
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Experience with ERP systems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
