Job Summary

This position will focus on delivery of a high-profile project for a major client in the Las Vegas Valley, the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA). SNWAs Horizon Lateral Project is an essential component to delivering a reliable water source to the Valley and includes design and construction of large-diameter steel pipe (120-inch to 72-inch), hard and soft ground tunnels, pump stations, buried reservoirs, rate of flow control structures, valve vaults and other appurtenances. This program is in the Preliminary Design phase and will be advancing to final design in late 2022/early 2023. Come be part of a world-class team!

Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
Provide technical design deliverables for the planning, design and construction oversight of pipeline and pump station projects in the Las Vegas Valley
Assist the Engineering Manager in maintaining project schedules and budgets
Assist the Engineering Manager in managing sub-consultants
Oversee implementation of expected QC/QC procedures during a project
Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, interface directly with the client or sub-consultants
Support business development through writing of technical approaches, scopes of work, and presentation to clients
Technically mentor other engineering staff
Serve in a supervisory role and participate in career planning and learning and development
Technical Expertise:
Ability to work effectively as part of a large multi-discipline team and drive solutions to meet deliverables
Previous experience with welded steel pipe design
Experience with pipeline design and construction within an urban setting
Knowledge of pipeline and pump station hydraulics and sizing
Preferred Qualifications
Ability and motivation to lead portions of complex pipeline and pump station projects with guidance and mentorship
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides for pipeline and pump station projects
Knowledge of pipeline and pump station construction techniques
Industry knowledge and technology trends
Experience and ability to support proposals with marketing with technical ideas and approaches
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 5 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Certifications
Professional engineering registration is preferred, with the ability to obtain a PE license in Nevada
