The Brunswick i-Jet Lab is seeking a Perception Engineering Intern to join our Research Park Team for the spring semester and/or the summer of 2021.
You will work in the Research Park office at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. As a Perception Intern, you will be an integral member of the autonomy development team. You will work independently and collaboratively with our students and staff on-site towards a progressive future in the boating industry.
AS THE SENSOR FUSION ENGINEER INTERN, YOU WILL:
Design, prototype, engineer, test,and launch cutting-edge perception software stacks for Autonomous Driving.
Work closely with other teams to ensure a seamless and robust implementation.
Support the calibration, testing, interface specification, and integration of a variety of sensor data (Camera, LIDAR, RADAR, Ultrasonic, GPS/IMU, etc.) into the perception algorithms for prototype-to-production system development.
Develop, implement and utilize specific metrics to quantify the performance of sensor fusion techniques for detection, classification, and tracking algorithms.
Utilizing hardware-in-the-loop, software simulation, and in-vehicle experimentation for algorithm testing and software validation
QUALIFICATIONS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
Pursuing a Bachelors, Master's degree, or Ph.D. in a field related to Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Must be willing and able to work a minimum of 12 hours, per week for the duration of the internship.
If on a student visa, must be able to obtain CPT work authorization.
Experiencecreating clean C++ or Python code.
Experienceworking withalgorithm development and implementation in at least three of the following areas: multi-sensor fusion, image processing, remote sensing, object detection/classification, intent prediction, model-based estimation techniques and/or multi-target tracking.
