Empower AI: As the Network Architect - SME, you will be a key member of the Empower AI team providing a wide range of Information Technology services, infrastructure support, and program management services for the Guard Enterprise Cyber Operations Support (GECOS) task order in support of the Army National Guard (ARNG). Empower AI will provide ARNG with the management, maintenance, operations, and defense of its DoDIN area of operations 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year (24/7/365). This will include security and network operations, incident response, information system compliance, Installation Processing Nodes (IPN), Installation Enterprise Fabrics (IEFs), Enterprise Common Core Services Platforms (ECCSPs), customer service support, RCC-NG enterprise service desk, enterprise application management, secured network(s), asset management, risk management, and project management to maximize the enterprise IT infrastructure services.  Services will be provided at approximately 2,800 sites and to over 350,000 users throughout the 54 states and territories (comprised of the 50 states, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam, and the District of Columbia).


Highlights of Responsibilities:

The ARNG performs 24/7/365 network monitoring and control or network management from the RCC-NG NOC location over the DoDIN-A(NG) and DoDIN-A(NG)-S networks. Support the ARNG NOC to provide DoDIN services (e.g., data, voice, and video), architecture data management support, and enterprise data processing and hosting support.

  • Support Network Operations Center.
  • Provide 24/7/365 active monitoring of WAN links and network systems and maintain the policies within the Joint 802.1x Platform.
  • Maintain devices in the Joint Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) Platform (e.g., Base/Post/Camp/Stations (B/P/C/S) switches).
  • Operate scopes on the Joint Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) platform for Theater Level Virtual Private Network (VPN) Routing and Forwarding (VRFs) instances, and on the Joint DHCP platform for user Community of Interest (COI) Level VRF instances.
  • Support and manage:
    • Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI)-to-Router (RTR) and server VRFs.
    • Core-Access Control System (ACS)/Intrusion Detection System (IDS).
    • Edge Exchange ActiveSync (EAS).
    • Joint Base-Customer Edge (JB-CE) routers.
    • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
    • The base firewall.
    • Client Remote Access (RA) VPN.
    • DoD enterprise initiatives such as the Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS).
    • Web Content Filter (WCF).


Minimum Requirements:

  • Clearance: Secret
  • Education/Experience: BS 7 - 12 years of experience
  • IA Certification: IAT II (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
  • CE Certification: CCNA or similar (Network+)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL v4 Foundation certification
