Fantastic opportunity for a young Ambitious Quantity Surveyor. Our client is a civil construction contracting company who specialises in Earthmoving, Demolition and Plant hire. The team constantly works to deliver projects that exceed expectations. All of their projects are delivered on time and on budget, but its the quality of work that amazes their clients every time. Their demolition team offer large scale, industrial deconstruction and decommissioning for applications like mine sites, bulk ports, power stations, quarries, oil and gas rigs, and storage facilities. Experienced in high risk, structural demolition their equipped with a strong knowledge of engineering, simulated modelling techniques, and complex heavy lifting solutions.
A Quantity Surveyor toassist with the preparation of design to cost reports throughout all stages of the design process. Assist with the measurement and pricing of work, variations and change requests.
Ensure that design to cost exercises are completed to a high standard and are collated through to the overall project summary.
Advise of any risks / opportunities that originate from the design to cost process to the Risk Manager.
Site Contract Administration to manage monthly payment claims, payment certificates and dispute management.
Quantity take offs from design drawings and BIM model
Promote the commercial capability of the project by participating in the development and continual improvement of related behaviours and systems
Cooperate with the design to cost team and build strong relationships with designers, construction team and estimators
To be successful in this role, you must have the following:
Minimum of 2/3 years of relevant civil /commercial construction experience
Have the Ambition to move forward and willing to learn
Demonstrated commercial / quantity surveyor experience in the civil construction environment
Knowledge of the tender methodology (costing, risk and opportunities, constraints), contractual agreements, claims and dispute management
Experience in site contract administration, including payment schedules, insurances, variation negotiations and dispute management
