Risk & Systems Safety Assurance Manager

We are currently looking for a Risk and System Safety Assurance Manager to work within MTM Metro Tunnel Project portfolio. The Risk and System Safety Assurance Manager is responsible for the governing outputs from CYP and Metro ensuring parties produce high quality deliverables that are compliant with Metro Trains Safety Management System relevant to the accreditation, rail safety and risk elements of package delivery.
The Risk System Safety and Assurance Manager will be responsible for developing long-term partnerships with the accreditation, risk and safety areas of the broader Metro Trains business, as well as delivery entities including CYP and Rail Projects Victoria. The position is also required to ensure MTM meets is regulatory obligations and is capable of demonstrating the safe testing environment of the Tunnels and Station capability in its role as the Rail Infrastructure Manager to the satisfaction of ONRSR.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity. As an MTM employee, you will have access to free travel along the network.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Oversee the development and delivery of quality documentation to ensure compliance with Metros Management of Change Process and Rail Safety Interface Agreements
Provide leadership and management to a team of specialist Senior Risk and Assurance Advisors
Adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements and Metros Safety Management System including managing and leading the production of safety assurance reports as required by the Project, based on a claim-evidence approach
Facilitate risk assessments pursuant to the standards (ISO21000/RSNL) and in accordance with Metros Integrated Risk Management Procedure while demonstrating comprehensive risk identification, assessment and review of mitigation controls
Provide support and guidance on the risk and assurance deliverables required to support Engineering Deliverables e.g. Standard Waivers, Engineering Change and Type Approvals and Works Readiness
Manage third party contractor obligations against MTMs assurance requirements pertaining to Projects Agreement, Franchisee Cooperation Agreements and Project Scope and Technical Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Tertiary qualification in in risk management, safety or engineering
Knowledge of Rail Safety National Law
Demonstrated experience Minimum 5 years working experience in risk, accreditation and/or safety management
Experience in managing a small team
Ability to motivate and communicate effectively with all personnel throughout the organisation
Strong analytical, interpersonal and consultation expertise
Strong report writing, analytical ability and critical thinking
Advanced MS Office knowledge including Excel
Previous experience using project management methodologies would be advantageous
