Mechanical Tie-In Execution Coordinator
Reporting to the Lead Construction Execution Coordinator, the prime purpose of the position is to lead the tie-in package execution and construction team activities with a key focus on:
Support the planning requirements with respect to the operational interface activities
Ensure that work is completed in a safe planned manner providing direction on work design/methodology and guidance to coordinators, package supervisors and engaging with contractors and taking direct accountability for execution outcomes.
Support and live out the project safety culture as a key member of the project team ensuring that risk management and safe systems of work are delivered for all aspects of the project scope.
To provide clear instructions to teams and drive the culture and moral of all groups inline with the South32 core values.

This role will be based at our Worsley Refinery, where our employees choose to live in the Bunbury, Collie or other nearby communities which all offer an enviable country lifestyle. As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in and out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hours drive of Collie.
Primary responsibilities are to:
Responsible for the safe delivery of activities and provide assurance to the contractor management standard, Major Projects West roadmap and Worsley standards, specifications, and systems of work.
Verify project employees and contractors adhere to work standards, are competent, and understands the purpose and functionality of critical controls relevant to their work.
Ensure planning is completed with the operational stakeholder engagement.
Ensure tools, registers, processes, and training materials are used within the Major Project environment.
Provide input, advice, and guidance in relation to design, methodologies, planning, quality control.
Plan interface meetings with respect to prestart/debrief, toolbox, construction risk assessments, stop for safety and safety reset meetings. Ensure engagement of various teams.
Ensure interface requirements for change management are documented and approved by the Senior Approvals Engineer.
Coordinate construction activities, specifically within the brownfield tie-in requirements and promote operating discipline related to the SAP work management processes.
Ensure execution of project activities in line with the project schedule.
Provide assurance that all work methodology/work pack design is acceptable with sufficient quality and control measures.

Expert that has guided, developed, and influenced practice with 10+ years experience in mining construction activities
Expert in planning and executing large brownfield project mechanical tie-in construction activities within an operational plant
Expert in leading large construction teams and activities located in a brownfields operation with minimum of 5+ years experience in the alumina refining industry.
Collaborate with multiple or larger groups of internal stakeholders at various management levels
Previously been in supervision or coordination positions within a construction team in the mining industry
Detailed knowledge and understanding of the core principles and concepts related to operating and maintaining of operational equipment
Holds a recognised and relevant trade qualification or university degree or diploma
