Horticulture Innovation Australia Limited Hort Innovation is an industry- Owned, not- For- Rofit, Research & Development Corporation RDC for Australias $15 billion horticulture industryort Innovation invests approx $120 million in Research & Development R&D and Marketing programs annually and is funded by levies, Australian Government co- Investment funds for R&D, and other external co- Investment fundsbr>The Constitution of Hort Innovation requires that in 2022, three 3 of its nine 9 Directors retire from the Boardhree 3 Director candidates are then to be elected to the Board at the 2022 Annual General Meeting, in Novemberbr>Applications are now being sought for the three 3 Director vacancieskills required by the Hort Innovation Board as a whole are set out in the Board Skills Matrix 2022br>In 2022, Director applicants must have experience in the following three 3 essential areas:
Experience in the application of corporate governance principles in the context of a commercial enterprise, not- For- Rofit enterprise, or other regulated entity
Experience in, or the ability to:
Read and understand fundamental financial statements and essential quantitative information, including balance sheet, income & expenditure statements and cash flow statementsbr>Critically analyse the Azienda of investments, and
Assess and balance risk and returnbr>Experience in an Executive role or senior management role or equivalent for a minimum of five 5 years including in setting and reviewing, or materially participating in setting and reviewing, the strategic direction of an entity or a large departmentbr>In addition, director applicants must possess skills in at least five 5 of the following specific areas of focus for 2022:
Australian agricultural industry experience
Research & Development
Commercialisation/Applied Innovation
Investment Evaluation
Public Policy
Market Access & Asian/International Markets
Leadership & Culture
Stakeholder Management & Communications
Horticultural Production/Supply Chain
