We are looking for a Database Administrator to join the Technology team in Sydney.ou will deliver and maintain infrastructure systems as well as the performance, integrity and security of our databases for a number of Symbio business segments.ou will focus on driving infrastructure automation and ensure our deployments are resilient and repeatable across development and production environments.r>
What you'll do as a DBA
Focus on driving on-prem and cloud AWS based initiatives within your team that enable modern engineering practices for the entire technology department.r>Work collaboratively with Delivery, Software and Network teams in delivering systems and services as well as ensuring we understand the health of our systems at any point in time to reduce outages.r>Help us modernize our tech stack by advocating fit for solutions and enhance the way we work by informing end users of changes in databases and train them to utilize the systems well.r>Support, maintain and develop data and database systems across all instances of Symbio business segments.r>Provide after hours support on a rotating roster for production critical platforms.r>Qualifications
What you'll need to succeed
hands-on experience in a DBA role, ideally 1-3 years
Experience in on-premise systems management including installing, configuring and maintaining bare metal and virtualized systems
Proficient in Database administration including security, backup and recovery and performance monitoring standards
Exposure to essential DBA activities including but not limited to backups, restore of databases and performance tuning.r>Exposure in public cloud environment/technologies including AWS services such as RDS, S3 etc
Strong experience in MSSQL technologies including T-SQL, performance optimization, SSRS and SSIS, as well as MySQL
A sense of ownership of technical projects and improvement of engineering practices
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology is desirable
Bonus points for
Scripting experience using Javascript, Bash, Python as well as experience in using data serialization languages such as JSON and YAML
