Wood is currently recruiting a Civil Earthworks Designer in order to grow our Brisbane Mining & Mineral group to meet the large demand in critical metals projects.
We can offer you a career in the ever-expanding battery and magnet metals industry driving the decarbonisation of the globe. This full time permanent role will be based in our modern office in the city centre and will be a key pillar for our expanding team.

A key component of decarbonising the world is the Mining and Minerals Industry which supplies the critical minerals required for this revolution. Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects.
In this role, you will be responsible for duties such as:
Detailed layout, design and production of drawings encompassing all aspects of a plant construction package in accordance with relevant standards and project requirements
Inter-discipline liaison, support and timely transfer of information
Timely completion of drawings and schedules
Review and processing of vendor data and drawings
Adherence to project man-hour budgets
Adherence to Wood Standards and Procedures
Assist in checking of study and project drawings
Miscellaneous drafting and site tasks, as directed
Assistance with site installation and commissioning
Assistance with the development of estimates

Skills / Qualifications
What will make you stand out will be your previous experience at an engineering company with exposure to large mining infrastructure designs and mega projects. You will also have:
Minimum of 4 years design drafting experience
Well-developed computer skills with a good knowledge of Bentley Inroads as well as a working knowledge of relational databases and spreadsheets
Broad knowledge of construction techniques and plant operations
Good understanding of mineral resource technology
Good understanding of civil and structural technology
Possess teamwork skills as well as an understanding of other discipline requirements and expectations
Quick and accurate with methodical approach to allocated work areas
Good understanding of the scope of work and project development process
Proficient checking skills with ability to work unsupervised, focus on task completion, initiative
Quick and accurate with methodical approach to allocated work areas
