About the Mackay Hospital and Health Service
Mackay Hospital and Health Service ( ) has six hospitals, two multi-purpose health services and four community health centres that employ more than , staff. The district covers an area of approximately ,km and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
As a member of the Hinterland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (MHAODS) Service, this position will deliver high quality evidence based clinical services to child and youth consumers presenting with mental health issues in a rural setting.
This will include triage, clinical assessments, evidence based therapeutic interventions and treatments as well as case management, group/family work as required.
This position reports operationally to the Team Leader, Hinterland Mental Health Service, and professionally reports to Director of Nursing, MHAODS.
Although the main office base is in Moranbah, the successful applicant may choose to be based at any of the facilities in the Hinterland catchment area and travel to Moranbah when required.
This position is part of the Hinterland Mental Health Service and will travel to the Outreach Sites of Clermont, Dysart, Middlemount and Glenden to provide mental health care. The main office base is in Moranbah. There is the expectation that successful applicants would travel to Mackay for training and/or professional supervision on an ongoing basis.
