We are looking for a Systems Engineer to help manage core infrastructure and IaaS services provided by the Infrastructure Engineering group. In this role, you will work closely with Digital Workplace leadership to set strategy, and drive development, compliance, automation, and maturity of our on-prem and IaaS services. This role is very multi-functional working with Security, Engineering, Product, Sales, Support, Service Desk and Cisco IT. ou will also work closely with product engineering teams to test, provide feedback as customer zero to facilitate go to market.
As an Infrastructure Systems engineer, you will report directly to the Manager Infrastructure Engineering. Your technical and engineering expertise will be essential for improvement and support of the company’s Digital Workplace platform.
What you do:
Continuous delivery, early detection and correction of problems related to on-prem infrastructure and IaaS services.
Function within the ITIL framework including incident, change, and problem management to implement work streams using Agile methodology.
Extract and present data-driven reporting and analysis on infrastructure health both on-prem and in the public cloud.
Ensure audit tasks are completed on time, with participation of appropriate partners and in line with InfoSec asks.
Ensure that systems deployed on-prem and in the public cloud follow industry best practices for appropriate standards, processes, procedures, tools, and documentation.
Ensure maintenance, patching, operation, and monitoring of infrastructure systems both on-prem & in the public cloud are in place and in-line with Lifecycle management policy.
Participate in on-call rotation, and as such, work out of standard business hours will occasionally be required.
Who you are:
Extensive knowledge of various infrastructure tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services
Building and running Infrastructure in AWS including account administration and billing
Hands-on experience with Network, Virtualization and Storage platforms, VMware, Pure Storage a plus.
Understanding of end-user requirements and project critical metrics.
Defining and setting deployment, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
Have the technical skill to review, verify, and validate infrastructure build
Solving techniques to develop both short-term and long-term solutions to ongoing infrastructure issues. Document detailed root cause analysis
Monitoring the processes during the entire lifecycle for consistency and updating or creating new processes for improvement and minimising the wastage
Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
Strive for continuous infrastructure improvement and build continuous integration and consistent deployment pipeline for lifecycle management
