Fawkner Vet Hospital are seeking a Head Veterinary Nurse to join the team

Fawkner Vet Hospital is a growing busy hospital which has had several positive changes recently, we are now looking for a receptionist.
Fawkner Vet Hospital is a 4-vet hospital, with 12 nurses, offering a diverse range of services including: complex soft-tissue surgery, dental, orthopaedics, and medicine. Catering to our loyal and growing client base, our case load is both varied and interesting, sure to keep you on your toes!

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Head Nurse Veterinary Nurse 
Working around 38 hours per week, you will have the opportunity to develop your career. You will have a commitment and passion for high-level patient and client care and the desire to provide exemplary customer service. The perfect candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team whilst demonstrating strong communication skills, along with having a collaborative team approach.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Provide effective support to veterinarians in all aspects of veterinary nursing, including anaesthetic monitoring, animal handling, IV catheter placement and blood collection.
Maintain an excellent level of patient care and customer service at all times, treating every patient as if they were your own.
Maintain a consistently high level of organisation and cleanliness in the hospital and kennel areas at all times.
A very busy clinic with large surgical case load
Coach and mentor trainee nurses
Provide exceptional patient care
Work with the Practice Manager on nursing roster and careers plans for nurse team
Responsible for stock ordering
Only work Monday to Friday!

What we are looking for

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing 
3 years + experience 
Head nurse experience desirable but not essential 
An ability to work efficiently, both independently and as part of the team
A high level of skill in monitoring anaesthetics is necessary
Exceptional customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated client relationship building skills
A hard working and a hands-on approach to your work
A willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved at all levels, with energy and drive
Effective time management and organisation skills
