Panel Beater / Spray Painter


An industry leading, national third-party logistics company is looking for a Panel Beater / Spray Painter. The Candidate should be a skilled detailed-orientated person who will conduct repairs, restoration and spray works of the damaged vehicles. This position will also focus on damage and repair analysis, the cost involved in the restoration and the estimate time. The ideal candidate is responsible to plan and schedule vehicle repairs and to continuously comply with safety rules and regulation. This position is based at our is Head Office in Kempton Park, Gauteng.*Panel Beating**:* * Conducting inspections on bodywork and frames of vehicles to assess extent of damage * Communicating with manager by reporting the requirements, cost implications and time-period * Keeping manager up to date with progress on repair work * Disassembling damaged vehicle parts * Repairing scratches, dents and other damage to bodywork and replacing any parts that is irreparable. * Straightening and aligning frames and unibodies * Reassembling vehicle body parts and accessories * Replacing or repairing windows, interiors, and exterior trim * Filling and sanding bodywork * Performing final finishing and polishing *Spray Painting* * Cover windows and crevices that do not need paint * Prepare the surface by cleaning, buffing, and polishing * Spray a layer of primer * Spray the first layer of paint, checking for thin spots * Applying the paint with a spray machine or handheld spray gun * Apply a layer of clear coat to ensure a long-lasting finish * buffing and polishing the surface between coats * working out estimates of costs * completing records of materials used * keeping up to date with new products and working methods. * Essential Requirements * * Adhering to safety rules and regulations always. * Ensure good and proper housekeeping by keeping the work area clean and safe * The Panel Beater / Spray Painter will from time to time make use of various mechanical and welding equipment to effectively adhere to task requirements *Desired Experience & Qualification* * Knowledge of diesel mechanics * Bodywork and frame repair skills * Vehicle painting and spraying skills * Good manual skills, accuracy, and precision * Organizational and time management skills * Physical fitness and stamina * Ability to work as part of a team * Having an excellent eye for detail * Ability to work at flexible hours and in extreme weather conditions * Excellent technical and mechanical skills * Completed apprenticeship * General painting experience * Automotive experience * An eye for colour * Proven work experience as a Panel Beater and Spray Painter or a similar role in a Logistics or Transport industry. *Remuneration* R to 00 p.a based-on candidates experience*Desired Experience & Qualification* * Knowledge of diesel mechanics * Bodywork and frame repair skills * Vehicle painting and spraying skills * Good manual skills, accuracy, and precision * Organizational and time management skills * Physical fitness and stamina * Ability to work as part of a team * Having an excellent eye for detail * Ability to work at flexible hours and in extreme weather conditions * Excellent technical and mechanical skills * Completed apprenticeship * General painting experience * Automotive experience * An eye for colour * Proven work experience as a Panel Beater and Spray Painter or a similar role in a Logistics or Transport industry.
