If so, we invite you to explore the possibility of joining us to play your part in Desmond Tutu Health Foundations exciting future.The Research Nurse will be responsible for day-to-day nursing functions within a research-related environment.Minimum Requirements:Nursing Degree or Diploma and Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered NurseAt least 2 years nursing experienceNIMAART trainedAt least 1 year experience in implanon insertion and removalKnowledge of study protocol / regulationsKnowledge of HIV, and Sexually transmitted infectionsExcellent Computer literacy (Ms Office)Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsLanguage proficiency in English and IsiXhosaAbility to work well under pressure and to maintain effectiveness during changing conditionsAbility to work harmoniously with youth of diverse backgrounds and sexual orientation.Client focusedExcellent Administration skillsMust be able to work as a member of a team and independentlyAttention to detailDecision making skillsBuilding interpersonal relationships and partnershipsGood Planning and organising skillsStress toleranceResource managementAble to work later hours including weekends (Required to work on Saturdays; substitute with week days)Advantageous:At least one year experience in a research environmentTraining in First AID handlingGCP (Good Clinical Practice) certificationHSP (Human Subjects Protection) certificationPrevious work experience in HIV research and sexual health or with adolescentsWorking knowledge of an adolescent friendly clinical environmentResponsibilities:Providing a welcoming and supportive environment for all participants regardless of age, race, gender or HIV statusMaintaining strict participant confidentialityProviding pre- and post-test counselling, as well as risk reduction counselling, for clientsHIV testingPregnancy testingObtaining blood and urine samples, labelling and request relevant testPrEP InitiationImplant insertion and removalPerforming other participant care procedures as requiredEntering data on electronic device.Communicating with clinics and other NGOsAssist with quality Control (QC) checksValues fit: Passion Innovation Progress Integrity Respect ExcellenceSubmit CV, motivation letter with certified copy of highest qualification and details of three current contactable referees by 02 May .
