One will lead the Mine Closure Department, with mine closure liability assessments, developing mine closure strategies and plans and calculating mine closure costs. One will be responsible for identifying and developing new services within the departmentDuties & ResponsibilitiesOne will be responsible for developing and implementing mine closure project plans, in consultation with clients, to guide decommissioning and restoration/rehabilitation activities.Responsible for developing mine closure strategies, plans, policies and procedures.Carrying out a gap analysis on the clients mine closure strategy and providing a report on the findings.Providing advice and guidance to the client in terms of the implementation of the mine closure plan.Effectively carrying out project administration on closure related projects using the organisations methodology and principles to ensure that the projects are delivered on time, within budget and against our quality standards.Calculating mine closure costs that satisfy regulatory requirements as well as providing a management framework for our clients to manage the costs of construction and operational phases of the mine.Conducting audits and reviews in terms of the clients mine closure plans and assessments.Evaluating and monitoring the mine closure plans throughout the various stages of the mine life.Developing alternative mine closure measures to remediate the impact of the selected mine development.Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Carrying out Business Development and Marketing initiatives.Managing workload schedules for the department thereby ensuring effective workforce planning.Managing development, growth, and technical output of the Department.Leading the marketing of the companys different mine closure services the client offers.Acting as a key accounts manager for designated clients through regular meetings, networking, and fulfilling a project sponsor role.Effectively managing people, which includes, developing, recruiting, coaching and mentoring, disciplining, succession planning, budgeting, and performance management.Desired Experience & QualificationPost graduate degree in Engineering/Environmental Science or similar.Professional Registration would be beneficial.
