Solutions Prep Technician

How will you make an impact?This position is primarily engaged in the customer service and inventory management aspects of Unity Lab Services. It is also vital that those, in this role, have an understanding of performance metrics and collect pertinent data pertaining to site or team activities. During the absence of Team Lead the Sr. Specialist will perform lead duties or responsibilities. Maintain a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.What will you do?Daily preparation of solutions and medias.Manufacture according to the provided formulation sheets.Follow all formulation instructions accurately and enter all required information.Keep all equipment in good working order, and complete a daily clean-up of solutions prep area.Help to increase efficiency of the solutions prep group by providing suggestions for better operation of the space.Follow well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs & work instructions. Take direction from Site Supervisor/Manager (and Team Lead) regarding daily duties.Independently makes decisions and uses available resources to meet customer requirements.Analyzes/maintains/reconciles various customer and ULS reports to ensure requirements are met.Demonstrates proficiency at gathering, presenting, and explaining job or site-specific performance metrics.Communicates with supervisor any customer issues or potential problems.Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and improvements without the presence of site trainer and management team.Listens to customer concerns, effectively diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround timesWorks optimally with a diverse cross-functional team.Embraces Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologiesAccess & use Thermo Fisher Scientifics Intranet and SharePoint document management system.Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific throughout customer locations.Shows initiative to take on other duties as available.How will you get here?High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree preferredAbility to read, write, and speak English is required1-3 years of progressive proven experience preferred.Requires proof of COVID-19 vaccinationUnderstanding of how to calculate and prepare basic buffer solutions preferred.General chemistry background (e.g. understanding of Henderson-Hasselbalch equations, conductivity, and osmolality).Knowledge of maintenance and calibration of pressure-rated tanks, large scales, heat exchangers, and water systems.Displays a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Fisher.Must maintain Thermo Fisher Scientifics Four-I Values.Demonstrates a strong desire to serve the customer and the interpersonal skills to work with various levels of personnel at the customer site.Must deliver excellent customer service to include maintaining a professional appearance at all times.Operating skills to use hand held devices and learn to enter data in various systems as needed.Possesses the organizational skills to multi-task, manage time, and meet SLAsEfficient intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software.Experience in laboratory settings and GLP/GMP environments, preferred.Working Conditions:Works primarily and independently at customer locations, in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations and laboratory environments.Extensive walking may be required.This position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull 30-50 poundsUse of material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacksDepending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets, safety gloves, and safety glasses.Flexibility to work overtime as required.At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our , extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
