ICT Telecoms & Voice Engineer - Cape Town, Northern Suburbs IntroductionThe main purpose of the Telecoms & Voice Engineer is to provide end user(s)/clients, resellers and colleagues with technical support both on-site and remotely relating to IT, Network, Telecommunication, Office automation, software applications and general technology related queries pertaining to but not limited by the products and services offered by the company. It includes but is not limited to supporting telephony hardware and software such as analogue gateways, ISDN, SIP, Fax, security, modems, video conferencing units and assorted VoIP devices. This includes servers, storage devices, switches, routers and other related equipment. Asterisk and add-on modules Experience (ESSENTIAL)Duties & ResponsibilitiesTechnical responsibilities include trouble-shooting, maintenance, installation and overall supervision and support of data and telecoms equipment and software on-site and remotely.It includes but is not limited to supporting telephony hardware and software such as analogue gateways, ISDN, SIP, Fax, security, modems, video conferencing units and assorted VoIP devices.This includes servers, storage devices, switches, routers and other related equipment that the employee may reasonably be expected to encounter during the execution of their duties.Moreover, the ICT engineer will plan and implement all telecommunication network movements, additions, and overall changes in datacenter/hosted core deployments, on-site client premises deployments and internal office deployments. Asterisk and add-on modules Experience (ESSENTIAL) Desired Experience & QualificationCertifications:FORMAL EDUCATION:  High school Diploma (Matric)Degree in related field (IT, Software engineering, Computer science) REQUIREMENTS:5+ Years Asterisk and add-on modules Experience (ESSENTIAL)5+ Years MSQL Experience5+ SIP Experience 5+ Years Linux Experience5+ Years  PHP Experience5+ Years HTML Experience5+ Years’ Experience in the technical fieldExperienced VoIP and network trouble-shooting (strong Asterisk skill are essential).Understanding of VoIP termination through SIP, IAX and H. is required SYSTEMS ExperienceAsterisk (ESSENTIAL)LPIC-1 & LPIC-2 (Essential)SIP (Essential)MySQL (Essential)Linux (Essential)DCAPInternal systemsWindows (Desktop and Server)Network (Config, deployment, planning and trouble-shooting)Microsoft WordMicrosoft PowerPointMicrosoft Excel
