Lecturer Civil Engineering

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience At least a Master's degree Vertical qualification in Civil Engineering, with 70% average Applicants must be South African citizens who are 40 years or younger.Recommendations 2 years' post qualification lecturing/research/industry experience in Civil Engineering is required. Lecture, academic management, and early stage research track record. Familiar with the learner management system. Registration with the Engineering Council of South AfricaImportant Notes: If not yet registered for a Doctoral degree the successful candidate must commit to registering for a Doctoral degree within 3 months of taking up the nGap appointment and to completing the Doctorate within 5 years of appointment. Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities Completion of the nGAP developmental lectures/ courses for new academics as per programme requirements Lecturing on the Civil Engineering programs Develop learning materials for programs Supervise and mentor students Contribute to research cutouts Assistance with departmental administration Liaison with industry Competencies Demonstrable lecturing ability Understanding of good assessment practices Competent in conducting research and writing scientific outputs Computer literacy with good organisational and time management skills Knowledge and understanding of the latest technology and developments in the field of Civil Engineering Proficient in English (written and spoken)
