£40,000 - £45,000 plus excellent benefits/based in Worthing, West Sussex with WFH opportunities, 1 day per week in the office.

Our client, a leading technology strong, professional services company are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join their team to help develop solutions and improve their customer's digital experience. They are looking for a Product Owner who is a thought leader and problem solver, who can blend business, technical, customer and industry best practices and is obsessed with every fine detail when it comes to developing and improving the customer digital experience.

The Product Owner needs to be someone who can lead the SCRUM team in setting, prioritising, and evaluating the desired outcomes in order to ensure high quality customer centric features and functionality of the product. Ensuring profitability and maximising return on investment (ROI) where possible, through prioritising features by value.

Roles and responsibilities for the Product Owner role:

  • Carry out primary research, analysing data and market trends to understand customer needs and desires.
  • Hold business challenge workshops to gather high level requirements, clarify challenge and areas of investigation.
  • Establish themes, opportunities and data driven hypotheses.
  • Quantifying and prioritising the opportunities to deliver a co-created design brief with the business stakeholders.
  • Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Define product vision, road-map and growth opportunities.

Further roles and responsibilities for the Product Owner role:

  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritise stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned to the product strategy.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI. Accept or reject work outputs.
  • Facilitate sprint planning sessions.
  • Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.
  • Lead the planning product release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities.
  • Provide an active role in mitigating difficulties impacting successful team completion of sprint/release goals.
  • Follow customer focussed companies/industries and our competitors. Keep abreast of Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.

  • Understand the customer needs & desires and current state. 20%
  • Gather business high level requirements, clarify challenge and areas of investigation. 15%
  • Establish themes, opportunities and data driven hypotheses. Quantifying and prioritising the opportunities to deliver a co-created design brief. 15%
  • Co-create the vision, road-map and lead collaborative idea generation. 15%
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritise stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned to the product strategy. 15%
  • Create and maintain product backlog. 10%
  • Co-ordinate operational readiness across the business whilst working with the team to mitigate difficulties impacting deployment. 10%

Experience and capability requirements Knowledge/experience:

  • Previous working experience as a Product Owner.
  • B2C experience.
  • In depth knowledge of Agile process and principles.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field.
  • Experience of working in regulated industries desirable.
  • Understanding of industry obligations, requirements and strategic objectives under regulatory body's Levels of Service, developer measure of experience (D-MeX) and MOSL's performance metrics including retailer measure of experience (R-MeX)
