Essential Job Requirements
Provide a safe environment for the young people in our care
Good communication skills with the ability to develop positive relationships
Be a good team player to provide a high level of care and achieve positive outcomes
Encourage the young people to be motivated and take part in activities, education and extracurricular activities
Have attention to detail ensuring correct information is recorded in all paperwork
Demonstrate a commitment to own training and development
Be able to adapt working practice to the ethos of the home
Have resilience, motivation and determination
Can adapt to challenging and changing situations
Be inclusive to all children and young people
Be confident in using Microsoft Office including Outlook and Word, or willing to learn
Be flexible and able to undertake shift work including weekends and sleep-ins.

Desirable Attributes
Diploma Level 3 qualified in Children and Young Persons Workforce or equivalent or willingness to work towards the above Level 3 qualification funded by the organisation
Knowledge of current legislation relevant to Childrens Homes
Experience of Ofsted inspections
Understanding of attachment and trauma in relation to young people
Shift Pattern - 2 on 4 off shift pattern followed by sleep ins OR 5 on 2 shift
