Behaviour Mentor - Temp to Perm - Immediate start available


Your new role

Hays are working in partnership with a well-established independent SEN school in North East Leicestershire which accommodates for students aged 7-16 who have Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and have struggled to access mainstream education.

The school offers students a varied curriculum including GCSEs, BTECs and Entry Level qualifications as well as a full vocational programme. At the last Ofsted the school was rated 'Good' overall.

The school are looking to recruit a Behaviour Mentor on a full time temporary to permanent basis.

Your responsibilities

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work across the school, supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom. You will support students with their Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and deal with any challenging behaviours or incidents in a calm manner . You will deliver targeted 1:1 or small group intervention sessions with students focusing on their behaviour and learning. You will also complete reports as necessary to track pupil progress . You will also act as a suitable role model promoting and upholding the schools policies.

What you will need to succeed

You will be passionate about inspiring students to achieve their full potential whilst improving their social and emotional welfare. You will have the ability to think on your feet and stay calm whilst dealing with challenging situations. The ideal candidate will be resilient, have a calm and engaging demeanour and enjoy working with children. Whilst previous experience of working in within a SEN environment would be desirable, the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.
