An innovate and disruptive manufacturer of advanced complex machinery has a new vacancy for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join the team.Applicants are sought with experience in design and development of power electronics designs, including variable speed drives for 3-phase BLDC machines, and single phase 230V ac inverters.

Salary: £ 52,000 - £ 65,000 + benefits

Responsible to maintain and continuously improve the current generation designs of variable speed drives and power inverter modules.
Lead investigation and resolution of any failures seen on power electronics modules.
Drawing upon your knowledge and experience of power electronics design & development to assist in review, selection, and development of future product concepts.
Lead the detailed design, validation, and industrialisation of future product concepts, to create the next generation power electronics modules.
Support the nominated electronics manufacturing partner to successfully transition its products from low volume batch builds into full volume production.
As a member of the electronics team, actively contribute to the ongoing system level integration and testing activities, and to the design proving of the individual power modules and of the complete electrical system also.
Support and deliver continuous improvement efforts in line with the established and committed product continuous improvement roadmaps.
Work with minimum supervision and maximum responsibility, and to operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner
Degree in electrical & electronic engineering, with subsequent specialism in power electronics.
Significant experience in design and development of power electronics designs
Expected to have good working knowledge of EMC, in particular strong familiarity and experience in application of best practice design techniques to provide good control over levels of conducted and radiated electrical noise.
Experienced in design of high-power switching circuits using IGBTs and MOSFETs.
