Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000


Overview

They complete projects within the Education, Residential, Healthcare and Commercial sectors. They provide a range of design and engineering services to clients who demand exceptional results.

Their disciplines range from building services, sustainability, acoustics and project management, using the latest innovations in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and EDSL Tas dynamic simulation and thermal analysis for the most efficient and cost-effective design.

Role

Within this role as a Senior Engineer - Mechanical Services, you are expected to have a strong track record in one or, preferably, multiple sectors that previously mentioned. You will be a Mechanical Building Services Engineer, ideally with a professional registration, with experience of working on a variety of medium-size projects. You'll be part of an enthusiastic and committed team of Engineers and Technicians to deliver high quality output on projects. Client care and repeat business is crucial to the business' success, so you'll need to be able to develop and nurture relationships with our clients (both internal and external).

Responsibilities

- Substantial experience - at least 10 years working within the building services engineering area.

- Produce design deliverables (including drawings, specifications, and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and ensure progress against the project brief.

- Check calculations and production of detailed drawings to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project brief and customer requirements.

- Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions.

- Contribute to the preparation of enquiry plans, tender reviews, fee estimate sheets, scopes of work and change controls as required.

- Management of Engineers and Technicians in the production of calculations, design deliverables (including drawings, specifications, and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison, liaison with members of design/construction teams, project management, costing and any other relevant duty.

Skills and Experience

- Demonstrable experience of delivering projects in at least one sector that the consulantcy operates in.

- Communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas.

- Experience of contributing to bids, proposals, and tender specifications.

- Essential technical experience: Design of Mechanical Building Services systems, including HVAC and Public Health

- Able to travel to the office in Birmingham and to clients across the region.
