CAD Engineer

Mech Tech Professionals are urgently recruiting for an CAD Engineer for our niche manufacturing client in Gwent.

Reporting into the Site Services & Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of all site CAD drawings

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Scale and quantify on-site locations for tool installations, planning layouts for design packages.
  • Produce detailed drawings to include layout plans, schematic diagrams and ductwork drawings, accurately dimensioned.
  • Design and compose accurate drawing packages within agreed timescales.
  • Revise and update existing drawings showing design changes or additional details which could include building layouts, site service records, and tool installations.
  • Update space planning drawings to reveal changes in headcount and office re-layouts.

To be considered, candidates must hold the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Qualified to A-level or equivalent or NVQ level in a design related arena (advantageous)
  • Must be proficient with AutoCAD, with knowledge of Viewports and XREFs, and a minimum experience of 3 years in a similar environment.
  • AutoCAD qualification, (City & Guilds 2D CAD Level 3 equivalent) would be desirable.
  • Understanding of mechanical/electrical design with the ability to read and interpret concept and technical drawings.

Other Qualifications which would be advantageous:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project.
  • A methodical & practical approach to problem solving.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • The ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience of facilities plant & equipment would be advantageous but not essential.
