Job: Supply Chain Programme Manager

Rolls-Royce SMR is a start-up joint special purpose vehicle (SPV) business, specifically created to design, construct and deliver a new fleet of Small Modular Reactors power plants that will be a critical and strategic player in the race to Net Zero carbon emissions globally. Spun out of Rolls-Royce with its pedigree in engineering excellence but also attracting world class inward investment this is an exciting new business with an optimistic opportunity to be a global player in the coming years.
An influential and key role within the procurement team you will be responsible for working within the component and system delivery teams to ensure that procurement elements of programs are properly resourced, dependencies understood and timescales underpinned. You will ensure purchasing activities related to the through life delivery of our components are managed and be responsible for large packages of work. With the component and buying teams you will manage delivery of equipment to sites and factories and be responsible for steering supplier relationships.

Purchase/Project Strategy - Accountable for securing Purchase commitment to the project business plan and responsible for ensuring that Purchase resource is provisioned accordingly. Accountable for successful delivery of SC project once assigned. Accountable for ensuring that, at each stage of the project, the customer requirements are understood and incorporated into Purchase strategy. Accountable for ensuring that Customer Project teams are conversant with the relevant Purchase strategies, policies, organisation and processes.
Programme Management - Accountable for ensuring Purchase and Project input to the Supply Chain Requirements Document is achievable. Responsible for ensuring that Purchase plans are maintained, reviewed and supported by relevant management reports covering the key deliverables. Accountable for review of programme status with customers in accordance with Programme Management governance. Responsible for coordinating Customer/Project specific campaigns. Accountable for the management of Purchase issues and risks
Supplier Relationships - Where designated, responsible for the effective day to day supplier relationship management and operational performance of partners and suppliers
Cost Management - Management of short/medium term cost improvement plans with designated suppliers that are aligned to integrated commodity / category strategy(s). Understands suppliers manufacturing processes and associated cost drivers to support the development of cost engineering capabilities within the supply chain
Strategic Sourcing - Where designated, responsible for supporting the programme management and execution of sourcing activities, to meet the internal and external stakeholder requirements for current and future programmes.
Export Control - Responsible for ensuring that any Export Control provisions are deployed across Purchase and other functions within the IPT.
Risk Management - Responsible for deployment of Risk Management process using standard tools & processes to identify key risks and secure the required mitigation. Provides Customer interface with Purchase Risk Co-ordinator
Customer/Project Reviews - Accountable for completion of the functional input to gated reviews in line with business requirements. Responsible for ensuring that resultant Purchase actions are closed out in a timely manner. Responsible for presenting the Purchase Function project strategy & status to the customer as required.
Project/Purchase Interface - Accountable for engagement of relevant Purchase roles with the project. Accountable for co-ordination of major Project/Supplier interface events covering major schedule changes, Project and Customer Reviews.
Processes and Procedures - Accountable for ensuring Project and Customer compliance to Purchase processes and procedures
Code of Ethics - Responsible for ensuring their own compliance to the company and/or professional certification code of ethics.
