A chemist or materials chemist is urgently within a global R&D product development area to assist in experiments around the development of breakthrough, innovative and novel products
(Full training given to a graduate)
Key Responsibilities
Prototype preparation of novel and innovative products
Ensure products are made to adequate standards and best practices
Prototype testing and characterisation (e.g. physical, analytical) according to instructions from product developers
Evaluating and interpreting testing results and presenting conclusions in reports and presentations to the lead product developer and team
collaborate with subject matter experts and product developers across R&D to establish new methods for prototype characterisation where needed
Plan and facilitate product evaluations using sensory panels or subject matter experts with guidance from product developers; report results and summarise key learnings for review with development team
Facilitate prototyping and prototype testing through collaboration with other functions (e.g. Sensory Science, Consumer Product Safety and Compliance, Flavour Centre of Excellence, Analytical Development Centre, Prototyping hub, Quality, Device Engineering, etc), and/or external laboratories; report results for review with development team
Contribute with ideas for product design improvements and technical problem-solving where appropriate
Qualifications and Experience
A degree e.g. chemistry or other science background materials etc
Proficient in general laboratory tasks and procedures, such as solution preparation, handling chemicals and hazardous materials (e.g. solvents, flavour concentrates)
Full training can be given (but experience desirable)
Full awareness of laboratory safety procedures.
Self-starter / taking initiative
Consumer-centric attitude and special interest in product design and development.
Problem-solving skills, analytical skills and attention to detail
