Job Summary

Amazing opportunity to work alongside the buying team to develop design strategy, incorporating forward trends and managing the development and production of product ensuring that its quality and fit meets the customers expectations.

This role is to work across Ladies Tailoring product, 9-12 month MAT cover.

Job Role:

Assist the buyer with range building at the beginning of each season.

Work closely with the buying department to identify new key shapes and fabrics for the season and develop blocks where appropriate.

Carry out comp shops with the buying teams, to compare trends and quality levels in other high street retailers, preparing reports detailing significant areas of opportunity or growth for relevant product areas accordingly.

Develop/manage critical path from initial design concept to shipment dates, to include weekly review meetings with buyer and vendor to ensure critical dates are met.

Produce clear tech packs for suppliers which will result in correct and punctual sampling. Includes following complete development of product from initial drawings/tech packs to final sample.

Have regular contact with the corporate responsible trading team to share how PD are working towards a reduction in single use plastics

Have up to date knowledge of sustainability issues within industry and to be aware of relevant legislation and company requirements.

Works well with others to achieve goals. Builds good relationships with all colleagues, can adapt communication style to work with different personalities across the functions in order to achieve goals.

Build strong relationships with the suppliers, helping them understand the business requirement, whilst having experience and knowledge of the issues that may affect the suppliers quality levels, so that reasonable and practical solutions can be achieved throughout the development process.

Maintain a regular schedule of visits to stores to monitor product appearance and quality on the shop floor and feed back to buyer and vendors where appropriate.
