Treasury / Insolvency Associate

Role Overview:

My client is looking to recruit an experienced and dynamic Treasury/ Insolvency Associate to lead a small team of Assistant Treasurers who provide a service to the Business Recovery stream. The team is one of several hubs within their rapidly growing Shared Service Centre (SSC) based in central Liverpool.

SSC BR Treasury Associates role is to supervise the teams delivery of services. It is an excellent opportunity to gain further experience in supervisory role in a large firm.

This role is offered on a 3-month fixed term contract basis with the distinct possibility of moving to a permanent role at the end of this time.

The Role:

This will be a challenging and rewarding role where you will:

Be fully proficient in all duties and responsibilities expected of an associate

Undertake reviews of team members work, including VAT Returns, Payments, Bank Reconciliations and other ad-hoc duties

Supervise, allocate work and review output(s) of treasury staff in the team

Maintain and enhance all operational banking relationships.

Keep service levels and product offering of the team under review

Ensure procedures and systems are updated regularly to reflect best practice

Undertake process improvement projects as may be required

Deliver training to new staff

Support, coach, train and mentor junior members of the team and act as a point of escalation for quality and performance

Role specific training will be provided.

Technical requirements and professional skills:

Practical experience in insolvency and/or treasury is essential

Experience from an accountancy practice background is desirable

Accounting experience is desirable

IT skills - strong working knowledge of MS Office and similar desktop applications. IPS software knowledge is advantageous. Willingness to learn new systems is essential

Well presented with a professional level of communication both verbal and written

Good time management, organisation skills and attention to detail

Ability to work well in a team environment - mentoring/supervising experience is advantageous.
