Payroll Advisor; Preston; 12-month contract; £18.00paye per hour; Inside IR35
We are looking to recruit a number of payroll advisors to work with our client BAE Systems based In Preston
The role based within the payroll team, reporting to the Payroll Team Leader. This role requires a
customer focused approach to accurately administrate complex, high-volume payrolls.
Providing support to Payroll Administrators and the Payroll Team Leader.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support to all team members whilst processing payrolls in line with SLA’s and
Resolve complex business, employee and Third-Party payroll related queries,
ensuring the most effective communication method is used.
Ensure all processes are compliant with governance and audit procedures. Providing
recommendations for improvement.
Continuously identify improvements to processes and existing systems to ensure
maximum efficiency and effectiveness of the service.
Support internal/external Payroll reviews/audits.
Support Payroll Team Leader to ensure resources are in place to achieve all payroll
Support the production of all RTI and year-end returns including P60’s and Period 13
Transmission and reconciliation of BACS and FPS data.
Trains, coaches and advises team members, and customers with the aim of
maximising customer service.
Prioritise own workload and use initiative to provide a responsive Payroll Service at all
Supports in ensuring the BCP is up to date.
Contributes and leads sessions in Payroll Team meetings
Qualifications, Work Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a Payroll Operation ideally in a Shared
Service Centre environment.
Extensive knowledge of UK payroll legislation and end-to end Payroll processing,
including manual calculations of pay.
PC Literacy, competent in Word, Excel & Outlook
Excellent people skills including the ability to mentor, coach and influence team members.
The ability to interrogate and analyse data with a high degree of numeracy, accuracy and
attention to detail.
