Senior Accountant

Company Overview

Our client is a small but growing company of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors based in Galashiels in the heart of the Scottish Borders. Director led and with a team of 18 people, the firm offers a full range of accountancy & business advisory services to a broad range of clients in key sectors such as agriculture & rural businesses; property & construction; manufacturing; healthcare plus entrepreneurial & start-up companies amongst many others.

The Role

As part of our ambitious plans to grow the practice, there now exists an exciting opportunity to join the business as a Senior Accountant. In this role, you will work closely with your clients, providing a value-add service to your portfolio. Specifically, your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Review accounts and tax files for partner/client meetings
  • Review VAT and management accounts information and provide information to clients
  • Prepare more complex statutory and management accounts
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts and cashflows for clients
  • Provide technical support to trainees

The Ideal Candidate

Applications are welcomed from candidates with a current/recent background in professional practice, who enjoy working with a diverse portfolio and adding value. Its likely that youll have at least 2-3 years relevant work experience and candidates who are qualified or qualified by experience are equally welcome. Experience of IT packages such as Iris and CCH would be particularly attractive.
