Senior Quantity Surveyor

About this Role:

Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor required to work with the team on a major new build P22 healthcare project in Bournemouth, Dorset; Extensive preconstruction work has been undertaken and the main works have now commenced on site. Work will continue until phased handovers from late 2023 to 2024.

There is an established team which has been in place through the preconstruction phase.

This opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor arises now that the main works have commenced due to the scale and complexity of the project and nature of the NEC3 Option C contract, with potential for change and correct administration of the contract requiring additional commercial support.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager and working within the team, you will be responsible for key commercial aspects including: sub-contract procurement, management of your sub-contractor accounts, undertaking measurement and valuations for payments, pricing and agreeing variations - early warning notices and compensation events, input to applications to client for interim payments, financial forecasting and CVRs, settlement of subcontractor final accounts, agreement of client final account.

The form of contract is NEC3 Option C, so experience of this form of contract would be advantageous.

About the Company/Client/Project:

This is an established autonomous team for this major project, and part of a larger main contracting group, with a regional office on the South Coast, and a good pipeline of work in the area in the healthcare, education, student accommodation, mixed use residential sectors.

Turnover for the region is around £300m, with projects ranging in value from £25m to £100m; Workload is secured on a mix of national frameworks, competitive tenders and negotiated schemes for repeat clients.

The client is cash rich with a positive working relationship with their supply chain, and a long established and experienced senior management team.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

You will ideally be degree qualified with a proven track record of experience and delivery in a similar role with a Tier 1 main contractor, either an ambitious Project Surveyor looking to make the move up to Senior, or already operating at this Senior Surveyor level as No1 on projects up to £10m or No2 on larger.

You will be able to communicate well and work within a larger major project team.

Experience of the NEC3 form of contract would be advantageous for this role.
