Waites Recruitment Consultancy are seeking a Architectural Technician for a well know company in Essex to start immediately on a permanent basis.Architectural Technician - Job SpecificationMy client is a privately owned architectural practice based within close proximity of West Horndon station main line station.Primarily we work with national brands within the hospitality and retail sector, as well as working on residential and ad hoc projects.Currently a vacancy exists for an Architectural Technician (Technologist) to lead projects from inception to completion. Works are not restricted to new buildings but can also include refurbishment, alteration and other construction projects.Responsibilities as an Architectural Technician:? Meet with professionals and clients at an early stage to agree the project brief? Understand the design aspects of a construction project influence and relate to performance and functional issues, so that practical questions can be addressed at the outset? Evaluate and advise on environmental, legal and regulatory issues? Assess what surveys are required before work can commence and ensure such surveys are undertaken and results fed into the project? Develop project briefs and work on these as the project progresses? Prepare and present design proposals using AutoCad Software? Lead the detailed design process and coordinate design information? Advise clients on procuring the best and most appropriate contracts for the work they are undertaking? Liaise with appropriate authorities (local planning authority and building inspectors) when producing documentation for statutory approval? Produce, analyse and advise on detailed specifications for suitable materials or processes to be used? Carry out design-stage risk assessments? Assist in the administering contracts and project certifications? Obtain feedback from clients and people using the design, and report on the performance of the contractors and consultants? Appraise the performance of designs which are in use and produce maintenance management information? Ability to follow client brand manuals to ensure compliance to design brief? Complete weekly invoice sheets to indicate completed works which can be invoiced? Complete in-house projects Qualifications Required? HNC or HND in construction/built environment, or a foundation degree in architectural technologyAttributes we require:? Leadership skills and a willingness to take on responsibility? Good communication skills, as interaction with other professionals, authorities and clients will take place on a regular basis? The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team? A logical and practical approach as well as an ability to solve problems? Time management and ability to prioritise workloads? Attention to detail and design, and the ability to visualise objects in three dimensions? Planning and organisation skills? Technically Competent Software:? Must be conversant with all packages in Microsoft Office? AutoCad? RNET?
