The Senior GIS Specialist can be based out of either Bicester or Bristol.
What is involved in The Senior GIS Specialist Role?
As a Senior GIS (Geographical Information Systems) Specialist in our busy and expanding Geomatics team you will lead on GIS requirements throughout all life-cycle stages in relation to large scale Utilities & Infrastructure projects.
Responsible for data management, web and mobile application development for internal and external clients, you will become a Geomatics client manager for several clients, responsible for service delivery, resourcing and managing financial targets.
Taking ownership for managing the data for large, multi-faceted projects and the opportunity to work with and across a wide range of clients and schemes.
You will utilise the latest technology to develop online mapping systems and mobile applications to continually innovate and improve our service to new and existing clients.
You will manage data using our bespoke databases and processes, ensuring data quality standards are met and always maintained.
You will be perfect for this role if you
Are a GIS professional and have good all-round experience in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) through 4+ years of experience in a consultancy role.
Ideally you will have...
A degree or masters in GIS or a closely related subject such as Geography / Surveying / Land Management with a large GIS component
Practical GIS experience in processing, analysing and visualisation of spatial data ideally within the utility / energy sector
Expert and applied knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software for spatial data capture, management and analysis
A knowledge and experience of mobile and web applications including ArcGIS Enterprise or Online, Collector and Survey123; Geoserver and OpenLayers
Experience of database creation, maintenance and integration
A strong map production background with excellent attention to detail to ensure all outputs are to the highest standard
A familiarity with Land Registry, Ordnance Survey and other UK wide Geospatial datasets / sources
An enthusiastic approach and are a team player with a positive, 'can-do' attitude to work
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to work on your own initiative, organising workloads to meet tight project deadlines
