Print Production Designer

The Print Production Designer will be a key-supporting role for the Creative Group and the marketing team. This person should be meticulous with print production and ultimately ensuring final mechanicals are produced at high quality standards. They should be prepared to take pre-approved concepts and carry them through corresponding print deliverables. The person will be asked to work on a range of creative projects that include direct mail, print media, etc. This team member will also be asked to copy edit and support the Content Group in reviews.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with creative print team members and the guiderails of the Consumer Cellular brand book to create final mechanicals
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering necessary information and materials. Plan concepts by studying information and materials
  • Develop graphics for product illustrations and advertisements, internal company materials, and websites
  • Manage a calendar and workflow to meet deadlines and expectations, as well as attending scheduled meetings
  • Complete projects by coordinating with others on marketing staff, and creative team members
  • Maintain ongoing technical knowledge by reviewing professional trade publications, attending design workshops, participating in professional societies, etc.
  • Proof and copy edit all Print Media work for discrepencies - this includes brand messaging, product specifications, and disclaimers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or other relevant professionally-related field
  • 2-4 years design experience, preferably in consumer products/services
  • Proven ability to perform and apply design skills - including typography, ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing, scale, visual presentation, and layout
  • Expertise using creative software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and technology with ability to produce electronic files for production purposes
  • Experience in print production, including preflight, proofing and press checks
  • Attention to detail, keen eye for color accuracy and alignment
  • Ability to manage multiple work priorities; deadline-oriented
  • Presentation software (PowerPoint, Keynotes) abilities
  • Proactivity and resourcefulness
  • Copy editing/proofing experience a plus
