Visiting Assistant Professor of Engineering Science

Roanoke College invites applications for a one-year appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, starting in August 2022. The position is a temporary replacement due to a last-minute faculty departure. We will search for a tenure-track appointment to start in August 2023. The Visiting Assistant Professor would be encouraged to apply for that position.

Housed within the Department of Math, Computer Science, and Physics, the Engineering Science program offers B.A. and B.S. degrees. Evidence of, or potential for, highly effective classroom teaching is required. Duties will include teaching introductory engineering foundations, engineering analysis, and potentially junior level courses chosen to match the candidate's expertise from Statics/Materials, Electronics/Robotics, Heat/Mass Transfer, or Fluid Mechanics. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Engineering (including sub-fields), Engineering Education, or a closely-related field; a Master's Degree or higher with relevant professional experience is required.
