Throne Labs is looking for a Production Technician Level 3 to join our DC-based Production Team.
The Throne Production Team is responsible for final assembly and test processing of Throne bathroom units. Thrones are designed and built with proprietary technology that includes mechanical components, plumbing, sensors, electrical components, on-board processing, cellular connectivity, and solar/battery power system.
In this role you will be part of our best-in–class technical team and will report to the Production Lead. Level 3 Technicians can do high quality work, solve challenges without supervision, and provide training and guidance to lower level technicians.
Responsibilities and Duties
Fabricate, assemble and integrate smart Throne units according to product specifications
Follow and interpret technical manuals and standardized production documentation
Conduct testing, document issues and troubleshoot issues to get Thrones “deployment ready” across mechanical, electrical and software
Calibrate and adjust Thrones systems including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
Work with the Throne engineering team to identify issues and contribute to product improvements
Work with Throne Field Technicians to share learning, troubleshoot issues, and keep Thrones working well in real-world environments
Provide guidance and support to Level 2 Technicians
Hard Skills Required:
Solder circuit boards, crimp/terminate wires for signal and power connections
Analyze computer-based dashboard data
Read and contribute to circuit schematics, flow charts, diagrams
Replace pumps, electric motors, plumbing fixtures, solar panels
General carpentry (including use of Circular Saw, Table Saw, Router, jig design, cabinetry work) demonstrated thru cutting of flooring components, and outside skins.
Must have at least 10 of the following skills:
Welding of Aluminum and Stainless Steel (i.e. patch and repair tanks, frame work)
Other types of welding: Electrode, Tig, Mig
Sheet metal fabrication experience - cutting, bending on a brake press, riveting (blind/pop rivets as well as solid rivets) .
Assembly and installation (i.e. ability to disassemble, and reassemble a Throne without supervision)
Electrical (i.e. wire entire Throne system without supervision)
Installing flared pressure fittings for plumbing
Installing NPT (National Pipe Thread) plumbing fittings.
Experience opening threads, installing threads, and threaded inserts
Install nut plates
Drilling and tapping threads on aluminum and steel
Sound knowledge of different fastener types; bolts, screws for wood, screws for sheet metal, machine screws...etc.
Sound knowledge and demonstrated experience using different wiring termination types: molex, terminal blocks, etc.
Operate forklift safely
Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Demonstrated experience assembling or repairing low pressure water plumbing systems, electronic sensors, low voltage electrical systems, crimping, BLDC motors, servos and mechanical components/mechanisms is highly desirable
Military avionics or electro-mechanical experience will be highly regarded
Certification from an accredited Electronics Tech program, an Associates Degree in Electronics, Biomedical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent is preferred but not required
OSHA 10 certification preferred, but not required
Requirements:
