As Advisor Unit Commitment you will help ensure MISO is set up daily for success by collaborating with the Unit Commitment Operators and Operational Risk Assessment team (ORA). Daily Review sufficiency numbers, defining and track team metrics, assist operators on the desk as needed. You will be involved in discussions/meetings on areas of improvement for moving the business forward. Cross functional leadership will be utilized to assist in moving process forward as well as helping prioritize business efforts within the team and division.

As the Advisor Unit Commitment, you will be part of the team that is in the process of redefining control room dynamic, evaluating current process and how they can be executed more effectively while heavily influence how the function will look in the future.

You will work on large projects such as Real-Time Market Clearing Engine (RT MCE), Electrical Storage Resource (ESR), and enhancements to Capacity Sufficiency Analysis Tool (CSAT). Leading by example with a positive attitude toward MISO, impacting control room morale, while setting an example of the MISO core values.

In one year as our Advisor Unit Commitment, you will know you were successful if you have gained high level insight on the functional tools - Look Ahead Commitment Tool (LAC), CSAT, Market Ops Suites (MOS) and Market Ops Web (MOW). Actively participating in open dialog conversations with the operators on what is needed to successfully operate within unit commitment. Playing an active role in collaborations with the operators and MISO developers on tool enhances and fixes.

We are looking for hardworking professionals who have:

* At least a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Technology or a related field OR 10 years of equivalent technical work experience in lieu of a degree

* At least six or more years of relevant work experience in a related field

* Previous energy industry experience

* Previous energy market experience

We would also prefer candidates with the following:

* At least two years of data management, market analysis, planning, or settlements experience

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
