Designer II - Raven Applied Technology

Work closely with the Engineering team to design and document products that can be manufactured by the division.


  • Prepare designs of parts, assemblies, or products. Update drawings and initiate engineering change orders.
  • Maintain accurate and consistent documentation of materials, parts, assemblies, or products.
  • Update replacement material or parts lists, and installation sheets/manuals.
  • Assist engineering with package design.
  • Create and assemble prototypes, as needed.
  • Recommend product or process improvement strategies.
  • Participate in department improvement initiatives.
  • Contributes to the team and projects in an above average manner.
  • Lead or participate in department improvement activities.
  • With assistance, facilitate minor design projects from the concept stage through production, and make modifications as necessary.


  • Associate's degree in Drafting, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of related career experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of 3D Solid Works.
  • Proficiency with a computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Aptitude to learn electrical and/or mechanical skills.
  • Capable of defining appropriate approaches and solutions. Able to define project criteria to ensure project completion.
  • Well-developed problem analysis and problem solving techniques.
  • Team player who is self-motivated, and has ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace efficiently.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read drawings and work instructions, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
